Container Loads of RTA Kitchen Cabinets FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions Related to Our Full Shipping Container Loads of RTA Cabinets Program

QUESTIONS ABOUT BUYING CABINETS BY THE CONTAINER LOAD — COSTS AND CONTENTS

What Are Container Shipping Rates? How Much Does a Full Container Load of Cabinets Cost?

There are too many variables to answer this without knowing the cabinet construction, wood species and finishes you want. Plus, we will need your stocking list.

We are happy to quote your existing stocking /inventory list. Also, we can make recommendations if you are new to importing.

What Is Included In a Shipping Container Load of Cabinets?

The cost includes an all-plywood cabinet box, dovetail hardwood drawer box, soft close hardware and a paint quality you can sell at retail without hesitation. You will receive a nice mix of base and wall cabinets, vanities, tall cabinets and accessory items like moldings, panels, roll-outs, etc.

How Many Cabinets Are in a Full Shipping Container Load to the USA?

The answer is – that depends. I’m looking at a recent 1409 piece order that has 550 cabinets. The other 860 pieces are roll-outs, moldings, fillers, end panels, back panels, etc. Your next order may require fewer accessories, making it possible to fit 700 cabinets in the container.

What is Shipping Container Capacity vs Trailer Load Capacity?

As explained above, shipping container capacity is 500 to 700 cabinets, depending on your order and mix of cabinets and accessories. A typical trailer load of cabinets is 300.

QUESTIONS ABOUT HOW OUR CONTAINER LOAD PROGRAM CAN HELP YOUR BUSINESS

Can You Help Us Develop a List of Cabinets to Inventory?

Yes. We understand that this is especially important for the new importer. Or for somebody adding something like different height cabinets or more specialized SKUs like stacking cabinets.

Can You Help Us Build Our Own Branded Cabinets?

Yes, this is one of our strengths. Whether it’s as simple as your name and logo on the shipping boxes or on a cabinet drawer, we can help develop your brand and stocking strategy.

QUESTIONS FOR PEOPLE NEW TO IMPORTING

How Do I Order?

Ordering is as simple as sending in a spreadsheet with your cabinet list, door style choice and finish.

What If I’m Not Ready To Lease A Warehouse?

If you don’t have your own warehouse space, there are 3PL (third party logistics) warehouses. If you are new to importing, this is a way to reduce one of the challenges you have to start.

3PL’s give you time to figure out the best warehouse location without having to make a decision you don’t have time to think through.

R-T-A 3PL warehouses are starting to pop-up around the country. You may get lucky in your area.  Or you can turn to your business network and see if anyone has space they will rent for a year.

What If I’m Not Sure I’ll Sell Enough?

In the beginning, if you don’t have enough volume to move containers fast enough, consider selling to designers, importers, surplus stores or small manufacturers. Small manufacturers can be great customers, especially if they have a retail or contractor-based business.

QUESTIONS ABOUT DELIVERY

How Long Does It Take To Receive A Full Shipping Container Load of Cabinets?

Does The Container Come Directly To My Warehouse? Or Will You Deliver R-T-A Boxes On A 53′ Trailer?
